Prada x Magnum Photos become Witnesses to Nature
Prada and Magnum Photos have teamed up for a stunning exhibition in New York.
Here’s something to do if you’re in New York this weekend: Luxury Italian brand Prada and prestigious photography cooperative Magnum Photos have teamed up for a new exhibition that will see Prada’s Soho store turned into a capsule of eight visionary photographers.
Running until November 6th, Witness To Nature collects images from a variety of photojournalists from across the globe, aiming to explore the relationship between man and the natural environment. Among the 200 images on display, you’ll see the expansive mountain ranges of China, captured by Hiroji Kubota, Siberia’s Yenisei River, through the lens of Nanna Heitmann, and Namibia’s Namib-Naukluft National Park, by Paolo Pellegrin.
The exhibition is part of Prada Reporter, the fashion house’s new initiative that seeks to thread the the “vital" throughline between fashion and other creative languages. “The exhibition portrays the enigma and grandness of Nature alongside the diversity of life and culture on Earth, as it is the sum of infinite fragments that make a whole."
If you don’t happen to find yourself in the Big Apple over the next week, don’t fret, as Prada will be unveiling similar events and exhibitions across their other tentpole cities such as London and Milan.
